Things to Do
Oceanside Harbor Village is a fantastic area to spend the day, where residents and tourists alike stroll, shop, and dine. You’ll love the harbor views as you sit down and dig into fresh seafood, or as you walk along the water’s edge with an ice cream cone in hand from Nana’s and Pops Sweet Shop. Oceanside Municipal Fishing Pier is one of Oceanside’s most frequented spots, a world-renowned wooden pier that was built in 1888 perfect for fishing and watching the waves roll in.
Take a break from the water and travel inland to the Mission San Luis Rey, a historic mission with self-guided tours and beautiful sights. You can also visit the cemetery and church on your tour, where you’ll learn about the long history of the Mission San Luis Rey through plaques. The California Surf Museum chronicles the history of surfing with exhibits, information on famous surfers, and more. Every Thursday night, Sunset Market has over 200 vendors that come out to sell everything from homemade crafts to delicious foods.
